Live In the Moment

But, should we strive to live in the present all of the time?  I don’t think so.

Most of the time, but not all the time.

I think we need to live in the present moment for most of the time, noticing the taste, the smells, the sights, the emotions – but you need to live in the future too.  And the past.  For just a little bit.

To be in the future allows you to plan and create. To build a good life for yourself; ensuring you’re on a path that aligns with your values and the future you see yourself living. Planning your career, accepting a job offer or rejecting it, starting a business, buying a house, finding the right partner, planning a holiday, a family, your retirement – you get the gist – important big things.

Living in the present ensures you to don’t miss creating great memories to enjoy when you nip back into the past and re-live those feel good emotions.

Living in the moment is to live mindfully.

Mindfulness is a state of being fully present, curious and non-judgmental to your life experience – whatever that is in the moment.

It’s a state of being fully aware of where our attention is, no matter what we are doing, and purposefully shifting it when we recognise we are having unhelpful thoughts and feelings. It’s about fully embracing the present moment and not fear that it will end.  It’s about noticing the life you live.

I invite you to be mindful when next eating and doing the chores.  It changes everything……..
